On 26 April 2017, the European Commission launched a Work-Life Balance Package, composed of a Communication and a proposal for a Directive to “support work-life balance for parents and carers”. These were part of the broader launch of the European Pillar of Social Rights, which is to be discussed by Ministers of Social Affairs in Brussels today during the EPSCO Council.

FamiliesAndSocieties was mentioned in this Communication  (please see attached file, footnote 13:  Communication on Work Life Balance (357 Kb) (.pdf) ), which means that the project has had a direct impact on EU policy-making.

A part from that, the Discussion Paper “Family Diversity and its Challenges for Policy Makers in Europe”, also published in April, has been getting the attention of high-level workers at UNFPA on Facebook and Twitter.
