Overall we are ranked #33 in the top 100 in the world in Sociology – an even better placement than last year's ranking (#45). In 2017, we were ranked as #49 in the world. The Department of Sociology at Stockholm University also continues to be the top university within Sweden for the subject area Sociology, according to QS. We are also ranked highest in the Nordic countries and in the top 10 in Europe.

QS Rankings are published annually by the British firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). Universities and subjects are ranked nationally and internationally. Together with Times Higher Education World University Rankings and the Academic Ranking of World Universities, QS is one of the most influential and trusted ranking lists.
