About

Most research dedicated to analysis of the relationship between war in the “homeland” and diasporic communities focus on their direct involvement in the armed conflicts.  However, few studies have been dedicated to studying if the armed conflict in the “homeland” can affect, shape and contextualize the social relationships of diaspora. In this project we aim to study whether the armed conflict involving the home country can have any reflection in the social networks and attitudes of people living in Sweden. We focus on Ukrainian-Russian conflict and employ Respondent-Driven sampling to collect data on friendship networks of Ukrainians and Russians living in Sweden.
